YDKF Episode 152: Star Wars Video Games

In this episode I talk a bit about my visit to Rancho Obi-Wan before jumping in with lasers blazing and talking about as many Star Wars video games, computer games, arcade games and pinball games as a guy can in 75 minutes. I don’t cover ’em all, but it turns out there are hundreds of them so I did my best.

Really great podcast! I discovered this podcast a few weeks ago and have slowly been going through most of the older ones at work. I’m just terrible at giving feedback. But I love Star Wars games almost as much as you do. :) Your podcast is always highly entertaining regardless of what you are talking about. My only slight complaint would be the volume is too low — I can only raise it so high on my phone and it’s fine for most other podcasts.

You did mess up on the Knights of the Old Republic games. They are NOT MMROPG’s. They are RPG’s created by Bioware (makers of the Dragon Age and Mass Effect games) and published by EA. You’re thinking about the original (now removed) Star Wars MMORPG, Star Wars: Galaxies. You correctly named the current one, Star Wars: The Old Republic (which is a good game as far as MMORG’s go, but totally understand not having time for them).

In any case, both of the KOTOR games are VERY good and well worth playing if you haven’t. They have basic D&D rules when it comes to combat, finding things, etc. great gameplay, great stories, great characters.

My personal top five Star Wars games are:

    Star Wars Arcade (Atari)
    Star Wars Triliogy Arcade (Sega)
SW: KOTOR (PC version is the best)
    SW: Alliance (PC version)
SW: Rebel Assault II (PC version is the best)

    Keep up the good work!
