Toy Bizarre by Activision (1984) is a lost C64 gem that looks similar to the original Mario Bros. platform game but adds just enough depth, action, and strategy to elevate it to a higher platform. Precent robotic toys from taking over the toy store while avoiding Hefty Helga in this classic action platform game for the Commodore 64, TOY BIZARRE!

Great episode! I’ve loved this game for many years. Just for the record, you can send Hilda flying through the top border by bouncing her off one of the piston platforms, so at least that’s one way to get rid of her, albeit temporarily.
Thanks for another awesome show!

It’s crazy to me that people didn’t like this. I was very young, and everyone has their biases, but it was just straight up more interesting than Mario or DK. It was an improved version. As an adult I don’t think that I would be able to deal with the chaos of light and sound, so maybe that has something to do with it.
That was a really informative podcast, Flack. I had never heard of Toy Bizzar before. But it certainly does resemble at least the original Mario Bros. game.
I never had a Commodore 64, but I had a Vic 20. I think my cousin may have been familar with Toy Bizarre
but my cousin no longer has his C64.
